About Kyrie Pub Church

Kyrie is an interdenominational gathering that welcomes anyone from any walk of life, gender, race, culture, or sexual orientation.

We meet every Sunday evening at 5:00 PM at Shaw’s Patio Bar & Grill – 1051 W. Magnolia Ave., Fort Worth, Texas.

Kyrie is a worshipping community for the wicked and thirsty meeting in a pub. We meet every Sunday evening at Shaw’s Patio Bar & Grill on Magnolia Ave. in Fort Worth, Texas. The service begins at 5:00 p.m. with live music from a local musician.

Then we move into a time of Gospel reading, sermon, and communion. Following that, we share the peace while continuing to listen to music and be a part of one another’s lives.

Reconciling In Christ

Kyrie Pub Church is a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Church, which means we fully welcome and affirm folks from every walk of life, gender, race, culture, and sexual orientation in all areas of the church, including leadership, teaching, and preaching.

We affirm that folks in the LGBTQIA+ community are precious children of God and we affirm them exactly as they are. Kyrie Pub Church has come to this belief through study and discernment of scripture and by following the calling of the Holy Spirit to be a voice for love, reconciliation, and justice for the LGBTQIA+ community in Fort Worth.

KYRIE PUB CHURCH LEADERSHIP

Kristin Klade

PASTOR

Kristin was ordained in 2015 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) after receiving her MDiv from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She also has a BA in Religious Studies and a BFA in ballet pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma (but please don’t hold that against her). Kristin is a native Fort Worthian: a hospice chaplain by day, dance teacher and preacher by night. Kristin has a great passion for pastoral preaching that considers the suffering she sees each day as a chaplain. Being part of the leadership team at Kyrie has been one of the greatest privileges of her life, aside from her role as mom to her son Frank, and daughter Winifred. On any given Sunday, you’ll be sure to catch them causing a beautiful ruckus at Kyrie.

Sean O’Neil

PASTOR

Sean is a pastor, educator, and author. Having written and spoken openly about personal struggles and liberating victories related to mental health, Sean is passionate about helping people find pathways to peace. He is also enamored with God’s creation, so when he is not
preaching, you will often find him at Kyrie with a furry friend. Sean
appreciates both his Canadian-American identity and Pentecostal-Catholic upbringing. He wants to help people who don’t fit into boxes to find their place in God’s expansive love.

Mallory O’Neil

Deacon

Mallory spent several years in academic settings where she both studied and taught about religious institutions and Cold War politics. Although she has since pivoted to a career in IT, she continues to explore the faith and justice issues that first motivated her academic pursuits. These passions inform her current ministry. As a deacon, she believes the best way to show God’s love is to care for people’s physical welfare, and as such she situates herself in the three locations of ministry: the church, the world, and the margins. In her free time, you can find her caring for her pets, watching Doctor Who, or reading horror novels.

Rebecca Chase

Intern

Rebecca is an Intern in her final year at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, where she has been trying to survive “real winters” the past four years and thus is very glad to be back home in Texas. Her particular interest is church history, and all the various ways we form Christ’s body across history and around the world. She is a proud Aggie, aunt, and cat mom who loves reading, singing, and playing games with friends.

PHIL HEINZE

PASTOR Emeritus

Pastor Phil is a graduate of Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois, and Trinity Theological Seminary, Columbus, Ohio. He was a sixth-grade teacher and youth director at Trinity Lutheran School in Toledo for eight years. He has two children: Joshua and Mary Ruth. He joined the staff of Calvary Lutheran in Richland Hills, TX, in 1991 and was the founder, visionary, and tireless supporter of Kyrie Pub Church for over a decade. We are proud to call him our pastor emeritus.
