About Us

  • Kyrie Pub Church is an interdenominational group of folks who seek to love God, love people, and try to do some good. At Kyrie, we welcome seekers of all kinds. You don’t have to be any particular type of Christian or call yourself Christian at all to be a part of Kyrie. We are rooted in the Lutheran tradition and founded by an ELCA pastor (ELCA.org), though our current leadership hails from several different Christian denominations.
  • Kyrie was founded by Pastor Phil Heinze in 2012 and has been worshipping every Sunday evening in various bars around Fort Worth ever since. We have been at our current home at Shaw’s Bar & Grill for over 5 years.
  • We meet in a public space so that people can overhear the Gospel. Kyrie seeks to be a safe haven for people who may not feel safe or welcomed in a “traditional” church.
  • Pastor Phil believed church should be an “oasis.” Some folks stick around and are caretakers of that oasis. Those are Kyrie’s ‘regulars’ and our leadership team. Some folks are just passing through, and that’s okay, too. Our simple prayer is that Kyrie is an oasis and a place of healing and comfort for North Texas residents and for those passing through.
  • Kyrie is now led by a group of bi-vocational ministers who are also chaplains, professors, and corporate professionals. We have an incredible slate of rotating preachers and often welcome guest preachers, too.
